ADOPTIONS

We’re in the business of providing lifetime care to sick, unwanted, and feral cats. Many of our unwanted cats are friendly and could be adopted.

At the present time, we don’t have an adoption program of our own because there aren’t enough people who would travel from urban areas to see our adoptable cats (when they can probably find adoptable cats much closer to their home). And, there just aren’t enough people living near our sanctuary to justify building facilities and hiring experienced people to handle our adoptions: less than 250 people live within 5 miles of our sanctuary.

Instead of having our own adoption program, we work with other no-kill groups located around the state that specialize in adoptions. These groups have the facilities, expertise, and manpower to find good homes for our adoptables.

These groups, however, are often “full” and can’t take as many of our cats as we’d like. Because of this, we are thinking of establishing several of our own adoption centers – in urban areas – sometime in the near future.

In the meantime, until we get our own adoption program set up, all our adoptables – and unadoptables – are loved and well cared for at the sanctuary.
