DIRECTIONS TO THE SANCTUARY
The sanctuary is located about halfway between Clewiston and LaBelle Florida on State Road 80. We are in the middle of the country – surrounded by orange groves, sugar cane and pastures for goats and cattle. Our address is not visible from State Road 80.

Southern or western Miami-Dade County
Tampa, St. Pete, Sarasota or Port Charlotte
From Jacksonville-Daytona Beach: Take I-95 south to I-4. Take I-4 and go into and through Orlando. Continue west out of Orlando to US 27. Turn south (to Haines City). Stay on US 27 through Haines City, Lake Wales, Avon Park, Sebring, Lake Placid, and Palmdale.
Just past Palmdale you’ll find State Road 29. Turn right on SR 29 and follow it into LaBelle.
Once in LaBelle, you will come to State Road 80. Turn left (east) onto SR 80. Stay on SR 80 through town.
In about 12 miles you will see a SHELL gas station on your right (it is the only gas station once you leave La Belle and it is in a small shopping center – otherwise, everything is “country” once you leave La Belle).
The SHELL gas station sign is easily seen from the road and is located at the corner of State Road 80 and Hendry Isles.
Continue east about 1/8 - 1/4 mile when you will see – and cross – a very small bridge over a small canal. It is the first and only bridge/canal after you pass the SHELL gas station.
If you have traffic behind you as you approach this bridge, turn on your right turn signal to let the drivers behind you know that you’ll be making a right turn at the very next street, about 100 feet past this bridge (onto a dirt/gravel road called Witt Road).
There is no street sign that says Witt Road.
Turn right (south) onto this gravel road (Witt Road).
After you’ve made the right turn onto Witt Road, go about 100 feet and look to the right for a big BLUE barn-like structure behind a fence. The Blue barn is easy to see once you get off State Road 80 and onto Witt Road. It is not visible from State Road 80 (so don’t look for it until you are on Witt Road).
The Blue barn is our Infirmary. Pull over and park in front of the fence/gate. There is a doorbell on top of one of the signs near the gate. Ring it and someone will come out to let you in.

From Titusville to Vero Beach: Take I-95 south to State Road. 68 (just north of Ft. Pierce). Turn right (west).
Take I-95 north to State Road 68 (just north of Ft. Pierce). Turn left (west).
Once you are heading west on SR 68, go all the way to State Road 441. Turn left (south) and go to the city of Okeechobee. Go through Okeechobee to the junction of SR 441 and State Road 78.
Turn right onto SR 78 and follow it (south) around Lake Okeechobee all the way to US 27. Turn left and go through Moore Haven. About 5 miles south of Moore Haven on US 27 you will come to the junction of US 27 and State Road 80. The signs will say turn right to go to LaBelle or continue on US 27 to Clewiston.
Turn right onto SR 80 and head toward LaBelle.
Proceed west about 8 miles through the countryside. The road will curve to the right, and a little bit further on will curve back to the left so you are heading west again. After you come out of the last curve, you will go another 2-3 miles, to a road called Hendry Isles. There is a SHELL gas station on the far left (southwest) corner (which you can see as you are approaching the corner).
It is the first and only gas station you will see after you get onto State Road 80.
Pull into the SHELL gas station and turn around in their parking lot so you can re-enter State Road 80 – but this time you will head back east!
Yes! You’ve passed our sanctuary! There are two reasons why we’ve made you drive past us. First, it is difficult to tell you when to turn, and second it could be dangerous for you to turn. Going past our sanctuary (which you can’t see from the road) is much safer and you won’t have traveled very far out of your way.
Get back on State Road 80 and head east – back the way you came (the opposite way).
Continue east about 1/8 - 1/4 mile when you will see – and cross – a very small bridge over a small canal. It is the first and only bridge/canal after you leave the SHELL gas station. If you have traffic behind you as you approach this bridge, turn on your right turn signal to let the drivers behind you know that you’ll be making a right turn at the very next street, about 100 feet past this bridge (onto a dirt/gravel road called Witt Road).

From West Palm Beach: Take Southern Boulevard (State Road 80) west to Belle Glade, FL (about 40 miles from I-95). State Road 80 makes a left turn at the first stop light (as you come into town). Make the left turn at this light and follow 80 all the way through town. 80 will turn west and go to South Bay, FL (it’s only 2-3 miles west of Belle Glade).
As you approach South Bay, slow down, obey the speed limit signs. South Bay is a notorious speed trap.
At the only stop light in South Bay, highway U.S. 27 joins State Road 80. Make a right turn onto 27/80 and head northwest to Clewiston. Before you get out of South Bay, and a little past the stop light, on 27/80, is a new gas station called “Valero” (on your left) that usually has clean restrooms.
Proceed through South Bay on 27/80 to Clewiston (about 16 miles).
Continue through Clewiston on 27/80. Just as you are about to leave Clewiston, there is a big Walmart, on your right, that also has clean restrooms.
About 6-8 miles beyond Clewiston, you will see big green signs that say “State Road 80 west to La Belle and Ft Myers” and “US 27, north to Haines City.” State Road 80 and U.S. 27 split up at this intersection.
Make the left turn, west, to La Belle, on State Road 80, a two-lane road.

From Miami’s “South Beach:” Take I-95 north into Broward County. Turn west at the I-595 interchange (next to the Ft. Lauderdale airport) and travel west all the way to I-75. There will be a sign that says I-75 South to Miami and another that says I-75 North to Naples.
You want to follow the sign that says I-75 North to Naples.
About 5 miles later, before I-75 becomes the “Alligator Alley” toll-road, you will see highway U.S. 27. Turn right and head north on 27 to South Bay (about 40 miles away).
